Every house has a piece with a story behind it. Ours began in 1976, when our grandfather started traveling from India to the United States with little more than an eye for beautiful things and the resolve to bring them home. He returned with cases full of hand-wrought Indian jewelry, introducing American collectors to a craftsmanship they had rarely encountered until then — the first thread in what would become a family atelier.

In 1987, our grandmother, Jaye, brought her own discernment to the work, curating a collection of hand-decorated spice boxes and dowry boxes from India's finest artisan workshops — objects as ceremonial as they were functional. Then, in 1989, an unexpected commission from a film production — a set of dancing reindeer for a Hollywood set — revealed an instinct for tabletop design. It led Jaye's toward candlesticks, and within a few seasons, the collection was sought after by the country's most discerning retailers, from Sundance to Neiman Marcus's Horchow — everyone store carried Jaye's.

Today, our parents continues that legacy, having evolved the studio's craft into enamel-tole decorative accessories for the home — each piece still designed in-house, made to appoint your home, and to be passed down. From fine jewelry to the candlestick on your table, our mission has never wavered: to bring beauty to your home!
